One of the things I get asked the most when it comes to engagement and family sessions is, “What should I wear?!” The answer is a lot simpler than you think. You should wear something you feel comfortable in. I know, I know. But that’s not the answer you’re looking for, so instead of going into details about what type of outfit you should wear, I’m going to show you AND link my favorite and most recommended spring dresses. Yes, spring DRESS! Because you should be wearing a dress! They look fantastic in pictures, and so will you. I will try my best to keep these spring dresses up to date, so if you click on a link and nothing shows up, let me know! I’m more than happy to help.
*Since I share affiliate links with incredible gems like you, naturally, my content may contain affiliate links for products I use and love. If you love pastel colors, Morning Lavender is the shop for you! They have a variety of styles and decent pricing. I love their dresses so much that I even became an affiliate with them! Use code “RUBYSGEMS10” for a discount.
If you haven’t seen Ivy City Co.’s social media ads, you probably will soon enough. I love their dresses. They’re so flattering and flowy, and the range in sizing is incredible. Each spring dress style comes in various colors, so I will only share the style in one color but know that more options are available.
Who doesn’t love Amazon? I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to everyday clothes, I haven’t given them a try. But for spring dresses for pictures?! It’s so easy! You can find spring dresses at any price point, and as we all know, the return process in case it doesn’t fit is so simple and easy. Now, don’t be fooled! Some spring dresses are “designed” for maternity/pregnancy, but they photograph and fit beautifully even if you are not pregnant.
I have a love-hate relationship with Free People. They have TONS of clothes, and it can get overwhelming, but when you find the right dress… it is THE ONE! If you are lucky enough to find it in stock, ORDER IT! If you don’t love it, you can always return it. Or you can wear it and let me know you don’t plan on wearing it again, and I might buy it from you for my gem client closet!
I could go on forever sharing spring dresses for your upcoming session. When shopping for a spring dress, look for something with movement. They make a big difference in your photographs. Keep your insecurities in mind. I don’t like my upper arms. Therefore, I am going to avoid spaghetti straps or anything that exposes my upper arms. Short dresses look cute but believe me when I say that long and flowy dresses make all of the difference. Here are some more online shops with beautiful spring dresses!
If we have a session coming up, send me a message with a screenshot! I’d be more than happy to help. If we don’t, let’s chat and get you in the books, gem!
