Love Conquers All: Aissa & CJ’s Tucson El Conquistador Resort Wedding

This year, the wedding season kicked off with a Tucson wedding at Hilton El Conquistador Resort. If Aissa and CJ’s wedding is a reflection of what’s to come, then we are all in for a ride because their wedding was the definition of a modern minimalistic wedding, and let me tell you… it was a CELEBRATION, and I am truly honored to have been a part of it.

Aissa & CJ’s Story

Once upon a time, Aissa and CJ caught each other’s eyes during their 5th-period Chemistry class. Little did they know that this fateful day at Sahuarita High School would be the start of a beautiful romance.

Gems, the Hilton El Conquistador Resort was everything and more. This venue provided the most unbelievable backdrop for Aissa and CJ’s special day, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Just the thought of them exchanging their vows in such an amazing spot gave me chills!

The anticipation for the big moment was huge, but first, Aissa and CJ had to get ready. One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is that I get to document the WHOLE day, not just the parts that the guests will see. 

The Wedding Party

This meant that I was elbow-deep in detail shots with Aissa’s shoes and the rings. These little details deserve a piece of the spotlight! They’re just as special, so I never miss out on the opportunity to make them shine.

My Vanety did an incredible job on the bride’s makeup. Karina Romero Beauty Studio provided hair and makeup for some of the bridesmaids, too. Then, I hopped over to CJ to take some shots of him, too! CJ is such a romantic guy.

As we prepared, I learned that Aissa and CJ were about to celebrate their 10-year anniversary! During that time, CJ has gone above and beyond to show his love for Aissa. One of my favorite stories was the time when CJ bought Aissa a build-a-bear with the “I love you” sound chip. What a cute way to say the “L” word for the first time! 

First Look at Hilton El Conquistador Resort

It’s so clear that these two are meant to be together. They share so many things in common, from a love for hiking and working out to trying new restaurants and going to the movies. With a height difference of 5 feet and 6’1, they have the most romantic height difference.

Their proposal was nothing short of a dream come true for Aissa. While on vacation in Kauai, she accidentally saw a screenshot on CJ’s phone that said “Torrey Pines Proposal.” That led her to suspect that he was going to propose. CJ did indeed propose on February 12th, 2022, and to her complete surprise, her family and friends were there to celebrate with them!

Portraits & Ceremony at Sunset Point

Knowing their story made this day so much more emotional. When Aissa walked down the aisle, his eyes filled with tears at her beauty. He wasn’t the only one!

But before everyone got emotional, everyone giggled as one of the flower girls walked in the opposite direction, and the other chased after her to complete their flower girl duties.

Their wedding day was such a reflection of their love for each other, I couldn’t have imagined a better day for these two. But so many people helped make this day thrive! Elite Mobile Entertainment kept the party going with their music while Serendipity Cinematography captured every moment on video. Desert Memories Photo Booth provided a fun and interactive way for guests to create memories.

When it came to posing during our portrait photos, CJ and Aissa were natural. They were so comfortable with each other! They knew just how to hold each other and look into each other’s eyes. Even though we had a limited time for sunset portraits, we managed to capture some stunning images that will be treasured for a lifetime.

It was truly an honor to capture CJ and Aissa’s modern minimalist wedding, and I’m grateful to have been a part of it. They are a wonderful couple, inside and out, and I wish them a lifetime full of love and happiness.
