One of the most frequently asked questions I get is about location. It doesn’t matter if it’s an engagement or a family session. It all comes down to location! Tucson has infinite location options, but I want to share my favorite engagement locations in the area.
Let’s start with what Tucson is known for; the Sonoran Desert. If you’re new to the area, you might think all desert locations are the same. I am here to say no way! Although yes, most locations have brown dirt and tall saguaros, and a variety of cacti, no two locations are the same! See for yourself.
Easily one of my favorite engagement locations, but during SUNRISE! The colors are perfect, and you get that perfect backlight peeping through the desert mountains.
A location similar to Saguaro National Park – West, but slightly more south. I would recommend this engagement location both during sunrise AND sunset!
The one location that will make everyone think you’re not in Arizona. It has lots of secret garden vibes, and it’s the perfect engagement location in Tucson if you’re looking for a variety of backdrops without having to drive around.
This location speaks for itself. We start off at one of the picnic areas for more of a woodsy feel and drive up to Windy Point for some gorgeous views. We have to leave extra early, so plan for at least 4 hours.
Tall grass fields and epic mountain views. We can even get the full moon to show up on your engagement pictures when planned accordingly!
I wish we could drive up to Oracle year-round, but the fields only bloom once a year! If this is a location you’ve got your heart set on, we can definitely make it happen in the months of June or July.
Remember, these are MY favorite locations for engagement sessions. You are not limited to these spots. There are so many beautiful areas! We can drive out or fly out of state for even more epic backdrops. Check out these engagement sessions for more inspo:

If you’ve ever had a dog, you know they’re more than just pets—they’re family. They see you at your best and your worst and love you through it all. That was my sweet Chipis, my stubborn, adventurous, and fiercely loyal Shiba Inu. Saying goodbye to her this past month was one of the hardest things […]
During a vibrant photo session at Sweetwater Wetlands Park, the Latorre family, including twins and a younger brother, embraced the outdoors, allowing their natural interactions to shine through in every capture. The park’s lush scenery and serene atmosphere paired with the family’s soft-toned outfits offered a perfect setting. Despite some challenges with sunlight, the photographer’s skill ensured beautiful results, capturing genuine, joyful moments that the family will cherish as memories.
In Oro Valley, Arizona, a family photographer captured a magical session against the stunning backdrop of the Sonoran Desert and Catalina Mountains during twilight’s blue hour. The family’s close bond and synchronized outfits complemented the natural scenery, yielding photographs rich with moments of joy, love, and connection. The session highlighted the enduring beauty of the desert and the timeless essence of family ties, offering a sanctuary for creating and preserving cherished memories.
