Taking engagement photos is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Nothing beats documenting the love story of a couple like Andrea and Joel! Their engagement session at the Empire Ranch Foundation was beyond words, and I’m so happy that they chose me to be their engagement photographer!

Andrea and Joel’s love story began in 2016 when they crossed paths at a local bar. From that moment on, their connection was electric, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. In May of 2021, Andrea realized the importance of documenting their love story through pictures as Joel’s brother’s wedding approached.

While on the trip, Andrea took the initiative to book a professional photographer for a normal portrait session. Little did she know that this session would turn into something else! A day or two before the session, Joel contacted the photographer to discuss his plan. He knew this was an ideal moment to propose to Andrea, and he wanted everything to be just right.

With anticipation and excitement building, the stage was set for an enchanting surprise. When he popped the question, Andrea was shocked! She was ugly crying like Kim Kardashian, and it was perfect. A year after the proposal, Andrea reached out to me for her wedding day and, of course, her engagement pictures. I couldn’t wait to snap photos of them at the Empire Ranch Foundation!

During our engagement session, it became evident that Joel was camera aware, often looking directly into the lens instead of at his beloved Andrea. However, I quickly discovered a solution. By giving Joel specific tasks, we were able to create some beautiful natural moments.

Whether it was dancing together, pretending to stroll home after a night out, or whispering sweet words in Andrea’s ear, these prompts brought out all the genuine emotions and created stunning photographs.

Lulu, the couple’s lovable lap dog, played an integral role. While roaming around the ranch, she never strayed too far from her doting parents. I made sure to capture her beautiful blue bows and adorable presence! She added an extra touch of joy and warmth to the gallery.

I always love to learn all about my clients, and sometimes that means learning something totally crazy! As I got to know Joel, I learned that his brother played baseball with my brother. What a small world.

Andrea, Joel, and Lulu’s engagement photography session was a testament to the power of love. This session was so full of laughter and smiles! I wish these two the very best as they start planning their wedding. I hope these pictures serve as a tangible reminder of the exciting phase of life they’re in right now. Thanks, you two!

My son turns 11 today Eleven. I honestly do not know how that happened. During COVID, when the world had completely stopped and we were all just home together with nowhere to go and nothing to do, I took his portrait. He was little. He had that look on his face that only kids have, […]
