A popular question is, “Can we take out the engagement session?” Of course, a lot of times, couples have already had one with a different photographer, and I get that! But the truth is that having an engagement session is a big part of the wedding photography experience with me. That’s why I include them in all of my wedding collections. Let me explain why:
By having an engagement session, you will better understand what it’s like to have me point a giant camera lens at your face (JK. I’m not that close). Not only that, but this allows me to see how you interact with one another and get a better picture of you two – pun intended. You’ll also learn some poses and prompts I’ll repeat on your wedding day. It’s like a practice test, but you can’t fail and end up with beautiful portraits.
When you have an engagement session, you feel well prepared for what’s to come. This also allows me to learn what poses work best for you and which ones YOU love the most. Not only that, but you’ll know exactly how to pose, which will come much more naturally to you. This is especially helpful when we’re behind schedule. Weddings tend to run behind schedule most of the time. Even if we have 10 minutes together, you’ll be so well prepared that you’ll still receive variety in your gallery.
Listen, when I say you will spend most of your wedding day with your photographer, I mean it! I value getting to know my gems and even becoming friends. An engagement session is like a first date, but with your wedding photographer! We get to chat all about your wedding plans and the fun stories the two of you share, what you’re most looking forward to, etc. Not only does this give me a better picture of your relationship, but it will also reflect in the actual pictures! For example, I can find out which angles you like most, which is your favorite side, and what lifts or dips you feel most comfortable with. The more you trust me, the more comfortable you will feel, and the more beautiful your portraits will be!
Did you recently get engaged and are starting the wedding planning? Let’s chat and see if we’re the perfect fit!
Preparing for a family photo session involves planning and fun strategies to ensure children and parents enjoy the experience, from choosing the right time and attire to using playful bribes and activities.
Choosing the right family photographer involves assessing their editing and shooting styles, experience, print offerings, and client reviews to ensure a perfect fit for capturing cherished memories.
Preparing for a brand photoshoot involves careful wardrobe curation to enhance your unique brand identity. Key considerations include choosing a cohesive color palette, selecting appropriate prints, minimizing accessories, ensuring great fit, prioritizing comfort, and choosing suitable textiles. Opt for timeless pieces over fleeting trends, showcase signature styles, and incorporate versatile, removable layers for diverse looks. Crafting a coherent outfit sequence that reflects your brand’s ethos will guarantee a successful photoshoot. Remember, embody confidence as it complements your brand’s story effectively.
